SBI funds 100 MW rooftop solar projects with World Bank lending

State Bank of India (SBI) has received $625 million from the World Bank for financing 100 MW rooftop solar projects by private developers. Through this programme, SBI will support the installation of more than 600 MW of rooftop solar capacity. SBI is expecting to fully utilise this corpus in the coming two years.

The SBI has so far sanctioned 100 MW of GRPV projects, while proposals are in the pipeline for another around 125 MW.

SBI offers a wide range of services in the Personal Banking, Agriculture/Rural, NRI services, SME and Corporate Banking etc. It is a government-owned corporation with its headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
