Jain Irrigation commences trial run at its mango processing plant in Tamil Nadu: Report

Jain Irrigation Systems has reportedly commenced trial run at its mango processing plant at Elayamuthur near Udumalpet, in Tamil Nadu last week. The crushing capacity of the unit is 200 tonnes of mango per day and varieties such as Totapuri and Alphonso alone will be processed in the plant.

The unit will, however, crush only 100 tonnes per day to start with this year. The company has the capacity to scale up and will utilise it if there is a requirement.

Jain Irrigation Systems is a manufacturer of a wide variety of PVC pipes, PE pipes, water and gas transportation pipes, ducts for optical fibre cables and drip irrigation pipes. It is also engaged in tissue culture of bananas and pomegranates and is the world’s largest processor of mangoes and is the world’s second largest processor of onions and vegetables.
