Berger Paints inches up on plan to diversify into new home decor business

Berger Paints India is currently trading at Rs. 249.55, up by 0.15 points or 0.06% from its previous closing of Rs. 249.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 250.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 251.00 and Rs. 247.70 respectively. So far 8275 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 276.80 on 12-Sep-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 174.22 on 24-Jun-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 256.20 and Rs. 248.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 24245.54 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.99%, while institutions and non-institutions held 14.11% and 10.90% respectively.

Berger Paints India is planning to diversify into new home decor business beside its core product paints. The company will be seeking shareholders nod to pave the way to venture into new businesses.

The company is considering the business opportunities available in various areas relating to home decor, construction industry and adhesive and will leverage its manufacturing and marketing strength.

Berger Paints India is the second largest paint company in India with a gross turnover of more that Rs 5,000 crore. It is present in all segments of paint including decorative, automotive, industrial, protective and powder coatings.
