Reliance Infra’s arm, Thales to form Joint Venture

Reliance Infrastructure’s wholly owned subsidiary--Reliance Defence and Thales is intending to form an Indian Joint Venture (JV) with the proposed shareholding of 51% and 49% respectively.

Leveraging Thales offset commitment as part of the Rafale Contract, the JV is to develop Indian capabilities to integrate and maintain the Radar and Electronic Warfare sensors. The JV will develop skills and activity in the Special Economic Zone of Mihan-Nagpur together with an Indian supply chain for the manufacturing of microwave technologies and high performance airborne electronics.

Reliance Infrastructure is one of the largest infrastructure companies, developing projects through various Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) in several high growth sectors such as Power, Roads and Metro Rail in the Infrastructure space and the Defence sector.
