Tata Power gains on completing construction of 187 MW Hydro Project in Georgia

Tata Power Company is currently trading at Rs. 80.80, up by 0.25 points or 0.31% from its previous closing of Rs. 80.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 80.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 81.00 and Rs. 79.90 respectively. So far 93217 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 91.25 on 03-Apr-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 67.10 on 09-Nov-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 83.90 and Rs. 80.30 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 21719.33 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 33.02%, while institutions and non-institutions held 50.67% and 16.18% respectively.

Tata Power, India's largest integrated power company, through Adjaristsqali Georgia LLC (AGL), its joint venture with Norway's Clean Energy Invest AS Norway (Clean Energy) and IFC InfraVentures (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, hes completed construction of its 187 MW Shuakhevi Hydro Power Project (HPP) at a ceremony in Georgia. The Shuakhevi HPP is the largest hydropower plant to be built in Georgia over the past fifty years, and its project investment cost exceeded $420 million.

Around 730 Georgian citizens were employed in the plant construction. Post the launch of operations, the project will significantly contribute to Georgia's path toward energy independence. The power generated by the project will be exclusively sold within Georgia throughout the winter, which is a period of energy deficit.
