CRISIL Research assigns fundamental grade ‘3/5’ to Alok Industries

27 Jul 2011 Evaluate

CRISIL Research has assigned a CRISIL IER fundamental grade of ‘3/5’ to Alok Industries. The grade indicates that the company’s fundamentals are good relative to other listed equity securities in India. The rating agency has also assigned a valuation grade of ‘4/5’ to the company.

The assigned fundamental grade factors in the company’s position as the largest integrated player and one of the leading manufacturers of processed fabric in India. The grade considers the healthy demand for textile across the value chain in India and recovery in demand in the international markets post the global slowdown.

Alok has evolved from a small trading business into India’s largest integrated textiles player. It is present across various verticals of the textile value chain - from yarn manufacturing to garmenting. Alok’s production facilities are at Silvassa, Vapi and Navi Mumbai. The company also has a presence in the domestic retail segment and in real estate through a wholly-owned subsidiary.
