Bata India is reportedly planning to open 100 new company-owned stores this year apart from expanding into smaller markets with around 30 franchisee-owned outlets. The company plans to open 100 new stores in malls and high-street locations, each of which will be spread over 2,500-4,000 square feet.
Besides, the company has plans to open online shopping kiosks in its major retail stores, tie-up with payment banks and also increase the presence of its product offerings through partner websites.
Bata India is the largest retailer and leading manufacturer of footwear in India and is a part of the Bata Shoe Organization. The company manufactures footwear for men, women and children. The company manufactures shoes of various quality such as leather, rubber, canvas and PVC shoes.
