Bata India is reportedly looking to increase contribution from its women’s footwear segment to 35% from current contribution of 26%. The men’s footwear category garnered 50% of the company’s Rs 2,544 crore revenue, while children’s footwear contributed 15% and accessories accounted for estimated Rs 127 crore revenue at 5%.
In a bid to attract sales of women’s footwear, the company is introducing more designs and in-shop experience. Besides, the company is also betting on an aggressive advertising campaign to push up sales in this category and will be allocating more funds on advertising and promotions of women’s footwear.
