Bajaj Auto declines on reporting 7% fall in July sales

Bajaj Auto is currently trading at Rs. 2801.40, down by 21.60 points or 0.77% from its previous closing of Rs. 2823.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 2810.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2815.90 and Rs. 2789.00 respectively. So far 11343 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 3122.00 on 09-Sep-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 2510.00 on 15-Nov-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2867.45 and Rs. 2788.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 81103.79 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 49.30%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.81% and 24.88% respectively.

Bajaj Auto has registered a fall of 7% in total sales to 307,727 units in July 2017 against 329,833 units in July 2016. The company’s total exports out of the above stood at 121,230 units, a fall of 8% as compared to 131,811 units sold in the corresponding month last year.

The sales of the motorcycles decreased by 7% and stood at 265,182 units in the month under review against 285,527 units in July 2016. The company has reported 4% fall in commercial vehicles sales, which stood at 42,545 units as compared to 44,306 units in month of July 2016.

Bajaj Auto is world’s fourth largest two and three-wheeler manufacturer. Bajaj Auto has three plants in all, two at Waluj and Chakan in Maharashtra and one plant at Pant Nagar in Uttaranchal.
