Vijaya Bank trades in green on the BSE

Vijaya Bank is currently trading at Rs. 68.15, up by 0.20 points or 0.29% from its previous closing of Rs. 67.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 67.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 68.80 and Rs. 66.90 respectively. So far 93011 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 97.40 on 09-May-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 36.55 on 11-Aug-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 70.15 and Rs. 66.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 6797.14 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 70.33%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 18.31% and 11.36% respectively.

Vijaya Bank has inaugurated Vijaya Bank Self Employment Training Institute (VIBSETI) in Bhenslay Village, Indore in Madhya Pradesh. VIBSETI trains youth to start their own enterprises.

The bank has sponsored three VIBSETIs at Mandya and Haveri in Karnataka and Indore in Madhya Pradesh, where free residential training is provided to low-income groups/ rural youth. So far, more than 50,000 candidates have been trained, 70 percent of whom have set up their own micro enterprises.

The Bank reported 57.55% jump in its net profit at Rs 254.69 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2017, as compared to Rs 161.66 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the Bank increased by 6.53% at Rs 3510.11 crore for Q1FY18 as compared Rs 3295.05 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
