NHPC will seek shareholders’ nod to raise Rs 2,000 crore through issuance of Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) on private placement basis at its AGM on September 27. The special resolution proposes to authorize board to raise funds through secured/unsecured, redeemable, taxable/tax-free, cumulative/non-cumulative, non-convertible debentures/bonds, in one or more series/tranches, aggregating through private placement, in domestic market.
NHPC is engaged in electricity generation. The company is engaged in electric power generation by hydroelectric power plants. The company is also engaged in contracts, project management and consultancy works.
