Tata Power shines on planning to raise Rs 7000 crore

Tata Power Company is currently trading at Rs. 80.50, up by 1.70 points or 2.16% from its previous closing of Rs. 78.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 79.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 80.85 and Rs. 79.10 respectively. So far 185250 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 91.25 on 03-Apr-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 67.10 on 09-Nov-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 81.35 and Rs. 78.65 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 21678.76 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 33.02%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 51.06% and 15.80% respectively.

Tata Power is planning to raise up to Rs 7,000 crore via non-convertible debentures (NCDs)/ bonds on a private placement basis for one year. This, among other businesses, including appointment of six new directors, was considered at its 98th annual general meeting held in Mumbai on August 23, 2017.

Meanwhile, the company is planning to solve issues at its Mundra plant in Gujarat, reduce high debt, and simplify the corporate structure.

The company together with its subsidiaries and jointly controlled entities has presence in all the segments of the power sector viz. Fuel Security and Logistics, Generation (thermal, hydro, solar and wind), Transmission, Distribution and Trading.
