REC shines on entering into MoU with MAHAGENCO

Rural Electrification Corporation is currently trading at Rs. 166.20, up by 5.80 points or 3.62% from its previous closing of Rs. 160.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 162.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 167.25 and Rs. 162.00 respectively. So far 289476 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 223.80 on 09-May-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 112.33 on 29-Aug-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 168.95 and Rs. 152.35 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 32822.42 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 58.86%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 32.14% and 9.00% respectively.

Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) has entered into Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MAHAGENCO) for extending financial assistance to the tune of Rs 13,000 crore and for providing required services. The above MoU is non-binding in nature and the financial assistance is subject to appraisal of the proposal(s) to be submitted by MAHAGENCO to REC and approval of Competent Authority.

REC is engaged in providing financial assistance to state electricity boards, state government departments and rural electric co-operatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them.
