Tata Power’s TPDDL to roll out 2.5 lakh smart meters in first phase

Tata Power Delhi Distribution (TPDDL), a joint venture (JV) of Tata Power and the Government of Delhi, will roll out 2.5 lakh smart meters in the first phase of the project in its licensed area of 510 sq km in North and North-West Delhi. The implementation of the communication system and smart meter roll out will begin from March 2018 and will get completed by March 2019.

The project will help Tata Power-DDL to provide greater service options and accurate information to its customers on their energy consumption patterns, helping them to manage their electricity usage more efficiently and improve overall reliability by reducing outage time.

The company together with its subsidiaries and jointly controlled entities has presence in all the segments of the power sector viz. Fuel Security and Logistics, Generation (thermal, hydro, solar and wind), Transmission, Distribution and Trading.
