Amara Raja Group is reportedly planning to set up two more Skill Development Centres at Diguvamagham in Chittoor district and in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. The first Amara Raja Skill Development Centre, started in 2014 with an investment of Rs 30 crore at Pettamitta, Tirupati also in Andhra Pradesh, has been training youth in new areas leading to their employment.
The first centre was established by the Rajanna Trust run under the aegis of Amara Raja Group. The Amara Raja Skill Development Centre at Pattamitta held its third convocation where 83 students were trained as Multi Skill Technicians.
Amara Raja Batteries is the flagship company of the group and is engaged in manufacturing of industrial and automotive batteries. The company was first to introduce Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries with three-year warranty in industrial and automotive applications.
