Jet Airways in talks with two global airline alliances

Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline is in discussion with two global airline alliances that is Star Alliance and Skyteam. The airline has not yet started any process of joining a global alliance. Star Alliance includes Air Canada, Air China, ANA, Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines and operates 20,500 daily flights to 1,200 airports. In comparison, Skyteam has Aeroflot, Air France, China Eastern, Delta Airlines and KLM among others, and operates 14,700 daily flights to 958 destinations.

The airline is looking for starting its operations to Munich, Frankfurt and Paris and is planning to expand its international operations to destinations that are economically viable. Currently, the airline operates flights to Brussels, Milan and London, in Europe.

Jet Airways currently operates a fleet of 101 aircraft, which includes 10 Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft, 12 Airbus A330-200 aircraft, 59 next generation Boeing 737-700/800/900 aircraft and 20 modern ATR 72-500 turboprop aircraft. With an average fleet age of 5.81 years, the airline has one of the youngest aircraft fleets in the world. Jet Airways and Jet Konnect have a combined fleet strength of 121 aircraft and operate over 620 flights daily.
