Wockhardt trades in green even as LIC downsizes its hold in the company

Wockhardt is currently trading at Rs 836.00, up by 5.10 points or 0.61% from its previous closing of Rs 830.90 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 838.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs 841.85 and Rs. 826.45 respectively. So far 45831 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 888.00 on 11-Jun-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs 251.25 on 06-Jan-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 888.00 and Rs. 820.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 9155.41 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 73.64% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 7.31% and 18.82% respectively.

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has sold 2,211,088 shares in the drug firm Wockhardt, aggregating 2.019% stake through market sale for a total value of Rs 129.09 crore. Earlier, LIC had 5,506,579 shares in the company, aggregating 5.03% stake in the company. Post sale, LIC’s holding in Wockhardt has come reduced to 3.011%.

Wockhardt had reported net loss of Rs 68.64 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2012, against net profit of Rs 32.25 crore for the corresponding period last fiscal.  However, total income increased by 68.90% at Rs 722.93 crore during the quarter under review from Rs 428.03 crore in the year-ago period. year ago period.
