Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company has begun the installation of a waste water recovery plant at its Power House no 6 plant at Jamshedpur, which will be functional from January 2013. The Ground breaking ceremony for this plant was done by General Manager (O&M) of the company in the presence of officials and employees.
This unique waste water recovery plant is an effluent treatment plant with tube settler clarifier. The objectives of installing this plant is to filter and purify the waste water that is generated from the side stream filtration plant, and reuse the purified water as alternative water for cooling water system of the plant.
Besides, the company has also been implementing the 3R principle, which stands for reuse, reduce and recycle, for conservation of the environment at its various facilities.
