Tata Power surges as its arm commissions 50 MW solar plant in Karnataka

Tata Power Company is currently trading at Rs. 99.65, up by 2.50 points or 2.57% from its previous closing of Rs. 97.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 98.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 100.00 and Rs. 96.10 respectively. So far 1976379 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 100.00 on 02-Jan-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 75.10 on 03-Jan-2017.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 99.80 and Rs. 91.70 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 26506.78 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 33.02%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 50.76% and 16.10% respectively.

Tata Power’s wholly-owned subsidiary -- Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL) has commissioned its 50 MW DCR solar plant at Pavagada Solar Park in Karnataka. The project was won by the company on April 4, 2016 under the National Solar Mission Phase-II Batch-II Tranche-I State Specific Bundling Scheme. With this development, TPREL's total installed operating capacity now stands at 1664 MW.

The 50 MW solar plants have been built over 253 acres. Sale of power from solar plant has been tied up under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with NTPC at a tariff of Rs 4.84 unit.
