Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra) has reportedly emerged as the lowest bidder in an Rs 567 crore EPC tender, floated by NTPC for setting up a system, which will remove sulphur dioxide from the exhaust gases of the Jhajjar power plant. The national power company runs a 1,500-MW thermal coal-based power plant at Jhajjar, Haryana. The plant has three units of 500 MW each.
RInfra has emerged as the lowest bidder amid stiff competition from other EPC players such as BHEL, L&T and Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems.
RInfra is one of the largest infrastructure companies, developing projects through various Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) in several high growth sectors such as Power, Roads and Metro Rail in the Infrastructure space and the Defence sector.
