Tata Power’s thermal power station bags Golden Peacock Environment Management award

Tata Power’s Jojobera thermal power station located at Jamshedpur has bagged the Golden Peacock Environment Management award for the year 2012. The decision to award the Jojobera plant was taken by a jury under the chairmanship of Justice PN Bhagwati, former Chief Justice of India and member of UN human rights commission.

The award will be presented at a specially organised gala on July 7, 2012 in New Delhi. Union Home Minister, P Chidambaram, has been invited to be the chief guest and present the Golden Peacock award along with Ambika Soni, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting.

Tata Power is India's largest integrated private sector power utility with an installed generation capacity of 5297 MW and a presence in all the segments of the power sector viz. generation (thermal, hydro, solar and wind), transmission, distribution and trading.
