Vijaya Bank gains on opening 100 ultra small branches in Mandya, Karnataka

Vijaya Bank is currently trading at Rs. 57.25, up by 0.15 points or 0.26% from its previous closing of Rs. 57.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 57.35 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 57.35 and Rs. 57.05 respectively. So far 14080 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 73.00 on 22-Jul-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 43.85 on 02-Jan-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 58.55 and Rs. 56.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 2834.48 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 55.02% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 18.76% and 26.22% respectively. 

Vijaya Bank, a public sector lender has inaugurated 100 ultra small branches in financial inclusion (FI) villages of Mandya district in Karnataka. .S. Upendra Kamath, chairman and managing director of the bank formally inaugurated the branches. It has opened another 71 branches across the country.  Before March 31, 2012, Vijaya Bank has provided banking services to all the allotted 407 villages with population of above 2,000.

Vijaya Bank offers various products and services specific to various segments such as it has saving accounts for children, scheme for women clientele, credit facilities to minority communities like Zoroastrians, Buddhists are among others.
