M&M registers 8% hike in its two-wheeler sales in July

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) India’s largest utility vehicle maker reported 8% jump in its two-wheeler sales at 13,012 units in July, 2011.

The cumulative sales of Mahindra two wheelers for the April-July period stood at 45,288 units as against 39,291 units in the corresponding period last year, up 15%. The company is witnessing higher growth momentum on the back of increasing consumer preference for its scooter brands in many key markets across the country.

M&M’s net profit after tax for the fourth quarter rose by 6.36% at Rs 606.54 crore as compared to Rs 570.26 crore for the corresponding quarter last year. Its total income has jumped by 28.23% at Rs 6825.57 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 5322.75 crore in the corresponding previous quarter.
