Genus Paper touches roof on entering into two non-binding MOUs

Genus Paper & Boards is locked at upper circuit limit at Rs. 14.60, up by 0.65 points or 4.66% from its previous closing of Rs. 13.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 14.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 14.60 and Rs. 14.60 respectively. So far 50,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 16.70 on 30-Jan-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 4.16 on 05-Jul-2017.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 14.80 and Rs. 13.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 375.40 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 50.48%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 0.10% and 49.41% respectively.

Genus Paper & Boards has entered into two non-binding Memorandums of Understandings (MOUs). The first non-binding MOU with the Government of Maharashtra (GOM) is for investing Rs 1050 crore for setting up of Kraft Paper manufacturing plant and another one with the Government of Uttar Pradesh is for investing Rs 600 crore for expansion of current manufacturing facility.

Further, the company will incur the investing amount within a period of 5 years from the date of application to the Directorate of Industries / relevant authorities after completion of all effective steps.

Genus Paper & Boards is engaged in manufacturing of Multi-layer Kraft Paper & Mild Steel Ingot. Kraft Paper is classified as industrial paper and is used by packaging industry in making corrugated boxes and liners, corrugated sacks and composite containers.
