Rain Industries has received an approval for setting-up of Waste heat recovery based power plant to generate upto 4.1 MW Electricity at Unit- I, Ramapuram Village, Mellacheruvu Mandal, Suryapet District in the state of Telangana . The Board of directors of the company at its meeting held on February 28, 2018 has approved for the same.
This power plant will be set up by Rain Cements (Wholly owned Subsidiary Company) at a capital cost of Rs 58.41 crore, which will be met out of internal accruals. The project is expected to be completed by January, 2019.
Rain Industries is engaged in the business of manufacturing cement, Calcined Petroleum Coke (CPC) and power. It is the largest producer of CPC with a production capacity of 2.49 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
