Tata Motors’ total sales including exports of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in June 2012 were 64,341 vehicles, lower by 3% over June 2011. The company’s domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for June 2012 were 58,270 units against 61,266 units sold in June last year, lower by 5%.
The company’s sales of commercial vehicles in June 2012 in the domestic market were 41,026 units, up by 4%, compared to 39,272 vehicles, sold in June last year. Light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales were 28,363 units, a growth of 22%, compared to 23,198 vehicles sold in June, last year. However, Medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) sales stood at 12,663 units, lower by 23%.
Sales of passenger vehicles for June 2012 are at 17,244 units, a fall of 22% over 21,994 units, sold in June last year. Sales of the Tata Nano were 5,605 units, higher by 3%, compared to 5,452 units sold in same month previous year. The Indica range sales were 5,332 units, lower by 35%, over 8,188 units sold in a year ago period. The Indigo range recorded sales of 2,658 units, lower by 46%, over 4,882 units, sold in corresponding month last year.
The company's sales from exports at 6,071 vehicles in June 2012 are lower by 19% compared to 5,094 vehicles in June last year. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal at 13,071 units are lower by 12% over 14,886 units, in the same period last year.
