Two-wheeler and three-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor Company’s total sales volume for the June month has dipped by 9.30% as compared to the corresponding period of 2011. The company sold 1,65,483 units in June 2012 against 1,82,456 units in June 2011.
Total two-wheeler sales declined by 7.39% to 1,65,438 units against 1,78,633 units in June 2011. The domestic sales of the company dropped 4.77% to 1,47,893 units against 1,55,296 units.
The company’s exports dipped by 25.58% in June 2012 to 19,750 units against 26,539 units in the corresponding month of the previous year. Its two-wheelers exports fell by 24.82% at 17,545 units as compared to 23,337 units. The company’s three-wheelers exports slipped 14.86% to 3,255 units last month against 3,823 units in June, 2011.
The company registered 31.02% surge in its standalone net profit for the quarter ended March 31 at Rs 57.23 crore as compared to Rs 43.68 crore in the corresponding period last year. The surge in net profit is mainly due to lower tax expenses.
