Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) has received an approval for sale and transfer of WR-NR Power Transmission, a wholly-owned subsidiary of RECTPCL and also of REC to Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL), which has emerged as the Successful Bidder (L1), through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding Process, for establishing Transmission System for New WR-NR 765 kV Inter-regional corridor. The board of directors at its meeting held on March 6, 2018 has approved for the same.
REC is engaged in providing financial assistance to state electricity boards, state government departments and rural electric co-operatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them.
