Moil has received board’s approval for setting up Ferro Alloys Plant (FAP) at Balaghat and Gumgaon Mine.
FAP at Balaghat Mine is 50000 MTPA project which involves total investment of Rs 263.82 crore and Gumgaon Mine Plant is 25000 MTPA project with total investment of Rs155.00 crore. Both the projects are expected to be commissioned by the end of calendar year 2021.
The setting up of the projects is a part of diversification options stipulated in the Strategic Management Plan for the growth of the company.
MOIL is the largest iron ore company in India and fifth largest in world. It currently operates seven underground mines (Kandri, Munsar, Beldongri, Gumgaon, Chikla, Balaghat and Ukwa mines) and three opencast mines (Dongri Buzurg, Sitapatore/Sukli, and Tirodi).
