Power Grid Corporation of India has acquired WR-NR Power Transmission, the Project SPV to establish Transmission System for New WR NR 765kV Inter Regional Corridor on build, own operate and maintain (BOOM) basis, from REC Transmission Projects Company.
The transmission system includes establishment of a 765kV D/C Transmission line from Vindhyachal pooling station to Varanasi and traverses the States of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. The transmission system is to be constructed in a period of 40 months.
Power Grid Corporation of India is an Indian state-owned electric utilities company headquartered in Gurgaon, India. Power Grid transmits about 50% of the total power generated in India on its transmission network.
