Alstom India trades with traction on bagging order worth Rs 530 crore

Alstom India is currently trading at Rs. 414.35, up by 16.80 points or 4.23% from its previous closing of Rs. 397.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 398.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 417.00 and Rs. 398.05 respectively. So far 63383 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 613.00 on 18-Jul-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 280.00 on 22-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 417.00 and Rs. 376.95 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 2779.86 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 68.46% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 15.89% and 15.65% respectively. 

Alstom India (formerly known as Alstom Projects India) has bagged order worth about Rs 530 crore by Bharat Heavy Electrical (BHEL) to supply components and services for the 660 MW supercritical boilers at NTPC sites of two units located in Mouda, Maharashtra. These 660 MW supercritical power boilers were awarded to BHEL as part of the NTPC bulk 660 MW tender.

Alstom is the licensor of the supercritical technology of BHEL and is also collaborating with BHEL on execution of the supercritical boiler projects and license and business cooperation agreements.

Under the scope of the contracts, the company will cooperate with BHEL in designing the boilers and supply pressure parts of the 660 MW supercritical boilers along with pulverisers and airpreheater components. It will also assist BHEL with technical advisors during the erection and commissioning of the units.

Alstom Projects is India’s leading environmental control systems provider with 3 GWs worth of orders, accounting for about 50% market share. The company is well positioned to serve India’s growing hydro needs. Projects currently under execution include the 2000 MW Subansiri Lower hydroelectric power plant in the states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, India’s largest hydro project.
