Volvo- Eicher Commercial Vehicles, a joint venture (JV) between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors has bagged contract from Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC). The order is for supply of 1,019 bus chassis to the Gujarat transport body. However, the company did not reveal the total contract value.
GSRTC is already using Eicher buses for meeting the inter-city and rural connectivity requirements of that state. Eicher Motors is engaged in manufacturing of commercial vehicles, motorcycles and engineering components. In 1986, the company introduced its first product ‘Canter’. It is one of the leading manufacturers of commercial vehicle. It has manufacturing facilities located in Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Haryana.
