Bajaj Electricals is aiming to generate Rs 1,000 crore from its engineering and projects business by March, 2012. The engineering and projects segment had contributed Rs 830 crore in 2010-11. In comparison to the previous year, the engineering and projects business unit grew by 12.8% at Rs 831 crore.
The company is also planning to diversify into solar power-based lighting solutions.
Bajaj Electricals’ net profit rose 53.39% to Rs 57.46 crore on 24.92% rise in net sales to Rs 979.38 crore in Q4 March 2011 over Q4 March 2010. Its net profit rose 22.80% to Rs 143.79 on 23% increase in its net sales to Rs 2739.43 crore in the year ended March 2011 over the year ended March 2010.
