Bajaj Auto soars on reporting 30% rise in May sales

Bajaj Auto is currently trading at Rs. 2813.50, up by 61.35 points or 2.23% from its previous closing of Rs. 2752.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 2777.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2822.95 and Rs. 2777.00 respectively. So far 10491 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 3472.60 on 02-Feb-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 2695.00 on 07-Jul-2017.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2833.00 and Rs. 2731.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 79638.14 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 49.30%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.71% and 24.99% respectively.

Bajaj Auto has registered a rise of 30% in total sales to 4,07,044 units in May 2018 against 3,13,756 units in May 2017. The company’s total exports out of the above stood at 1,82,419 units, a gain of 31% as compared to 1,39,709 units sold in the corresponding month last year.

The sales of the motorcycles increased by 24% and stood at 3,42,595 units in the month under review against 2,77,115  units in May 2017. The company has reported 76% jump in commercial vehicles sales, which stood at 64,449 units as compared to 36,641 units in month of May 2017.

Bajaj Auto is world’s fourth largest two and three-wheeler manufacturer. Bajaj Auto has three plants in all, two at Waluj and Chakan in Maharashtra and one plant at Pant Nagar in Uttaranchal.
