Vedanta moves up on acquiring control over Electrosteel Steels

Vedanta is currently trading at Rs. 247.10, up by 0.80 points or 0.32% from its previous closing of Rs. 246.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 245.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 247.25 and Rs. 242.80 respectively. So far 259417 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 355.70 on 29-Jan-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 226.70 on 06-Jun-2017.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 258.30 and Rs. 239.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 91517.32 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 50.14%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 31.07% and 14.78% respectively.

Vedanta has acquired control over Electrosteel Steels (ESL) and a new board of directors has been put in place.

Investment from Vedanta Star (VSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Vedanta, in ESL shall be done through a combination of equity of Rs 1,765 crore and inter-corporate loan of Rs 3,555 crore.

Vedanta is a diversified natural resources company, whose business primarily involves producing oil and gas, zinc- lead-silver, copper, iron ore, aluminium and commercial power.
