GAIL India’s first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Cargo has arrived at the LNG terminal of Petronet LNG (PLL), Dahej in the state of Gujarat. The company had a long term contract with Gazprom Marketing & Trading Singapore (GMTS) of Russia. The LNG vessel ‘LNG Kano’ carried 3.4 TBTU of LNG.
The company has become the first Indian public sector company from India to source LNG from Russian side on a long term. It has contracted to import 2.5 MMTPA of LNG from GMTS on long term basis.
GAIL India is India’s principal Natural Gas Company with activities ranging from Gas Transmission and Marketing to Processing (for fractionating LPG, Propane, SBP Solvent and Pentane); transmission of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG); production and marketing of Petrochemicals like HDPE and LLDPE and leasing bandwidth in Telecommunications.
