Cummins India reports 26% rise in Q1 net profit

Cummins India has reported unaudited results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2011.

The company’s net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2011 surged by 26.34% at Rs 177.17 crore as compared to Rs 140.23 crore for the corresponding quarter last year. Its total income has grown by 13.18% at Rs 1061.16 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 937.59 crore for the same quarter last year.

Cummins India is a 51% subsidiary of Cummins Inc. USA, the world’s largest independent diesel engine designer. It is India’s leading manufacturer of diesel engines with a range from 205 hp to 2365 hp and value packages serving the power generation, industrial and automotive markets. The company also caters to the growing market for gas and dual fuel engines.
