Rural Electrification Corporation gains on getting nod to incorporate SPV

Rural Electrification Corporation is currently trading at Rs. 108.85, up by 0.60 points or 0.55% from its previous closing of Rs. 108.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 108.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 109.05 and Rs. 107.10 respectively. So far 149570 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 189.00 on 13-Jul-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 107.10 on 06-Jun-2018.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 112.95 and Rs. 107.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 21457.48 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 58.32%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 31.84% and 9.84% respectively.

Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) has received approval for incorporation of project specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), as wholly owned subsidiary of REC Transmission Projects Company for construction of transmission network for evacuation of power from 2x660MW Jawaharpur Thermal Power Project and Construction of 400kV substation at Firozabad with associated transmission line.

The meeting of the Board of Directors of the company held on June 22, 2018, approved the same.

REC is engaged in providing financial assistance to state electricity boards, state government departments and rural electric co-operatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them.
