Fortis Healthcare surges despite reporting loss in quarter ended March 31, 2018

Fortis Healthcare is currently trading at Rs. 135.80, up by 1.30 points or 0.97% from its previous closing of Rs. 134.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 130.30 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 138.00 and Rs. 126.15 respectively. So far 833682 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 175.00 on 27-Jun-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 106.65 on 06-Feb-2018.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 143.70 and Rs. 126.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 6950.35 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 0.77%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 67.54% and 31.69% respectively.

On consolidated basis, the company has reported a net loss of Rs 932.02 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2018 as compared to net loss of Rs 67.83 crore for the corresponding quarter in the FY17. Total consolidated income of the company declined 4.69% at Rs 1,105.09 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 1,159.50 crore for the same quarter ended previous year.

For the year ended March 31, 2018, on the consolidated basis, the company has posted a net loss at Rs 1,009.23 crore as compared to net profit of Rs 421.67 crore for the previous year. Total income of company decreased marginally by 0.83% at Rs 4,700.54 crore for year under review as compared to Rs 4,739.72 crore for year ended March 31, 2017.
