United Bank of India has inaugurated the staff training centre located at Guwahati in Assam on July 12, 2012. This centre will cater to the training needs of staff members of the entire North East Region of the bank.
Meanwhile, in a separate development the bank will join the SBI to enter the Southeast Asian country, Myanmar after a gap of four years. It has already got a licence to set up offices in Myanmar and opened a dollar account at United Overseas Bank in Singapore to settle trade transactions.
United Bank of India has emerged as a strong and efficient banking organisation over the years and plays an integral role in the socio-economic development of the Eastern and North-Eastern States of the country. The bank at present has a strong presence with its total 1678 branches and 800 ATMs spread across the country.
