REC zooms on getting approval to incorporate SPV as wholly owned subsidiary

Rural Electrification Corporation is currently trading at Rs. 101.95, up by 3.75 points or 3.82% from its previous closing of Rs. 98.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 99.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 102.20 and Rs. 97.60 respectively. So far 268366 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 184.15 on 08-Aug-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 89.10 on 23-Jul-2018.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 102.20 and Rs. 89.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 19917.05 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 57.95%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 32.23% and 9.83% respectively.

Rural Electrification (REC) has received approval for incorporation of a Project Specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), as wholly owned subsidiary (WOS) of REC Transmission Projects Company Limited for the Intra-State Transmission work associated with construction of 400 kV Substation near Guna and Intra-State Transmission work associated with construction of 220 kV Substation near Bhind.

The Board of Directors of the company at their meeting held on July 25, 2018, approved the same.

REC is engaged in providing financial assistance to state electricity boards, state government departments and rural electric co-operatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them.
