Balkrishna Industries gains on getting nod to enhance carbon black project size

Balkrishna Industries is currently trading at Rs. 1243.90, up by 16.05 points or 1.31% from its previous closing of Rs. 1227.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1236.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1255.00 and Rs. 1223.20 respectively. So far 230 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1351.20 on 17-Apr-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 720.00 on 22-Aug-2017.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1273.70 and Rs. 1,218.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 23736.45 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 58.30%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 28.23% and 13.47% respectively.

Balkrishna Industries has received an approval to enhance the carbon black project size from 60,000 MT p.a. to 1,40,000 MT p.a, considering the overall demand / supply outlook of Carbon Black. The total capital outlay on the entire project is estimated at Rs 425 crore which is planned to be completed by financial year 2020-2021. The Board of Directors of the company at their meeting held on August 11, 2018, approved the same. Earlier, the company had initiated to set up a carbon black project of 60,000 MT p.a. which is presently underway.

Balkrishna Industries operates mainly in the business segment of tires.
