Tata Motors reports domestic sales growth of 27% in August

Tata Motors has registered an impressive growth of 27% in its domestic sales at 58,262 units in August 2018, as against 45,906 units over last year due to the continued robust month-on-month sales performance of its Commercial and Passenger Vehicles Businesses in the domestic market.

Tata Motors’ Commercial Vehicles domestic sales in August 2018 were at 39,859 units, an increase of 26%. The M&HCV truck segment continued to witness a growth momentum with 12,715 units, an increase of 16% over last year.

Tata Motors’ Passenger Vehicles domestic sales in August 2018 were at 18,420 units a growth of 28%, over last year. The company’s sale from exports (from CV and PV) in August 2018 was at an impressive 5,478 units compared to 3,082 units last year, a growth of 78%.

Tata Motors is India’s largest automobile company. Through subsidiaries and associate companies, Tata Motors has operations in the UK, South Korea, Thailand, South Africa and Indonesia. Among them is Jaguar Land Rover, the business comprising the two iconic British brands.
