Tata Power is planning to commission the 126-MW Dagacchu hydel project by next year, which is being developed along with the Bhutan government. The company has 26% in the nearly $200 million-project, while 74% is held by the Bhutan government. The company is going to sell electricity generated from the plant to India.
The company is also implementing the joint venture with Druk Green Power Corp, owned by the Bhutan government for this project. Sixty per cent of the funding is through debt, while the remaining amount is by way of equity. Manila-headquartered Asian Development Bank (ADB) is among the lenders for the project.
