IMP Powers gets LOA to set up first utility scale hydrokinetic project in Punjab

IMP Powers has received the LOA for establishing first Utility scale grid interactive mini hydropower plant on Built Operate & Own (BOO) basis in world. In a tariff-based bidding a 200KW small hydrokinetic project - ‘Teona’ on Bhatinda branch canal in Punjab has been awarded to the company by PEDA for implementation at a tariff of Rs 4.95/kWhr for project.

This project will be implemented through the hydrokinetic turbines being manufactured at the company’s plant in Silvassa.

IMP Powers is a listed transformer manufacturing company and a market leader of up to 400kV class transformers. Smart Hydro Power, a German engineering company having won several awards for its smart products, focuses on providing decentralized energy solutions.
