Hindustan Copper to start production from Malanjkhand underground mine in next fiscal

Hindustan Copper is planning to start production from underground mine at its Malanjkhand copper project in Madhya Pradesh in the coming financial year. The company's flagship project having a capacity of 50 lakh tonnes per annum (MTPA) is progressing well and 50% of the physical progress has been completed.

The current mine expansion plan of the company has been enhanced from 12.4 MTPA to 20 MTPA and the total capital outlay of the expansion projects is 5,500 crore.

Hindustan Copper’s principal activities include mining of copper ore, concentration of copper ore into copper concentrate through a beneficiation process and also smelting, refining and extruding of the copper concentrate into refined copper in downstream saleable products.
