SpiceJet flies high on operating first direct commercial flight to Pakyong airport

Spicejet is currently trading at Rs. 63.20, up by 0.75 points or 1.20% from its previous closing of Rs. 62.45 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 61.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 63.80 and Rs. 61.40 respectively. So far 1361049 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 156.25 on 20-Dec-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 60.60 on 04-Oct-2018.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 71.25 and Rs. 60.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 3779.53 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 60.03%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 10.69% and 29.29% respectively.

SpiceJet has operated the first direct commercial flight to Pakyong airport from Kolkata. The airline will operate direct flights on the Kolkata-Pakyong-Kolkata route daily under the Centre's regional connectivity scheme UDAN. The airline has deployed a 78-seater Bombardier Q-400 aircraft on the route. From October 16, the airline will launch a second flight connecting Guwahati with Pakyong.

SpiceJet is among the first private companies that stepped into the Indian aviation sector.
