Amara Raja Batteries setting up battery manufacturing plant at Chitoor

Amara Raja Batteries is setting up its third automotive battery manufacturing plant at Chitoor in the state of Andhra Pradesh at an investment of Rs 700 crore for the first phase, with a capacity of 6.5 million units.

The company would scale up capacity in the new plant to 10.8 million units in phases to make it one of the largest such facilities in the country.

Amara Raja Batteries is the flagship company of the group and is engaged in manufacturing of industrial and automotive batteries. The company was first to introduce Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries with three-year warranty in industrial and automotive applications.
