Hindalco Industries has reportedly received an approval from Odisha government for setting up an aluminum flat rolled product unit of 0.375 MTPA at Sambalpur worth Rs 5,000 crore. The company’s proposal is to set up the unit in the premises of existing aluminium smelter plant of Hindalco at Lapanga in Sambalpur district in the state of Odisha.
Hindalco Industries is an industry leader in aluminium and copper. The company’s aluminium units across the country encompass the entire gamut of operations from bauxite mining, alumina refining, aluminium smelting to downstream rolling, extrusions, foils and alloy wheels, along with captive power plants and coal mines.
