TVS Motor has reported results for first quarter ended June 30, 2012.
On standalone basis, the company has posted a fall of 13.09% in its net profit at Rs 51.10 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012 as compared to Rs 58.80 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income has increased by 4.22% at Rs 1819.75 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 1746.03 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011.
The company’s total sales for the quarter ended June 2012 remained flat at 5.47 lakh units. Motorcycles registered sales of 2.06 lakh units, scooter recorded sales of 1.20 lakh units, two-wheeler exports registered 0.61 lakh units and three wheeler sales stood at 9,367 units for the quarter ended June 2012.
TVS Motor Company is the third largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India and one among the top ten in the world. The company has a production capacity of 2.5 million units a year.
